Welcome at Lisbon airport. Transfer from Lisbon to Alcácer do Sal (1:30h).

Short transfer to the typical fishing village of Carrasqueria where we will start a small circular hike to explore some of the south part of the Sado’s river estuary. This is one of the few Portugal’s river that runs from South to North and has a great economical and ecological importance. Here we can enjoy a wide bird diversity, especially amongst winter shorebirds, that inhabit this Nature Reserve Wetland, like the White Stork, the Grey Heron, the Great Egret, the Glossy Ibis and the Sparrowhawk amongst others.
Lunch at Carrasqueria village.
After lunch we will have a short 15min transfer to Troia town, where we will board a confortable catamaran boat to enjoy a afternoon boat ride, looking for the famous Atlantic bottlenose dolphin’s family that live on these waters.
This day we offer you three activity options. You can choose to hike around Santo André’s lake located in local beach dunes, a horseback ride on the beach our a kayake ride through the canals used to channel water to the rice fields. Either one very fun.
Lunch at Comporta.
Transfer to Sesimbra (1h30min) with a ferryboat transfer (25min) through the estuary.
After a short rest at the hotel, visit the Sesimbra’s castle and enjoy the stunning views of the coastline while the sun sets in the Atlantic
We start the day with a transfer (50min) to Gambia farm that is located in the north bank of Sado’s estuary. This makes it a perfect place to observe wildlife, in particular, birds. Here we can hope to see the Kingfisher, the Purple Heron, the Booted Eagle, Black-shouldered Kite, and much more. In this farm, amongst other agricultural activities, they produce their own wine, which gives us a great opportunity to relax after a morning spent in nature tasting great local wine.

After lunch we will head north to the small fishing town of Alcochete located in the south bank of Tagus estuary. Here we will spent the afternoon visiting a old salt mine that not only gives us another great opportunity to observe wildlife but also learn how salt was produced back in the days.

Start the day with a circular hike through the coastline cliffs and forest of Arrábida. Here you can enjoy incredible ocean view while hiking through the cliffs and observe a number of different bird of pray such as the Peregrine Falcon and the Boneli Eagle, coastal birds like the Common Sandpiper and the Black-headed Gull and a variety of passerines like the Blue Rock Thrush, the Nightingale and the Azure-Winged Magpie.

Visit the imposing cliffs of the Espichel Cape and travel back in time to discover geological wonders from the Jurassic period. This is also a great place to watch birds in migration, especially in spring and in autumn. Some of these birds include the Cory's shearwater, the Northern Gannet, the European Shag and the Yellow-legged Gull.
The day starts with a transfer (1h20min) through rural areas, which take advantage of the rich lands of the Tagus estuary, to reach the EVOA (Tagus Estuary Birdwatching and Conservation Area). Here we will have the opportunity to visit the different observatories located in the lagoons throughout the area that allows us to observe the natural behavior of the local wildlife without disturbing them. The abundance of birds from different species makes this one of the best places for birdwatching in Portugal, particularly in autumn/winter. Some of these are the Greater Flamingo, the Spoonbill, the Greylag Goos, the Shellduck, the Shoveler, the Osprey, the Marsh Harrier and Purple Gallinule.

Transfer to Sintra (1h15min) and visit some incredible places in this mythical mountain such as Roca cape, the most western point of Europe and the Peninha Sanctuary situated on top of a hill with an amazing panoramic view of the coastline.

Sintra is one of those places full with magic and mystery, where nature and Man combined in a perfect symbiosis. Today will start with a gorgeous hike through the lush green forest, enjoying the beautiful scenery and learning about components that create this rich habitat.

After lunch we will visit the Pena Palace that is the perfect example of the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture, built on top of a hill above Sintra by King Ferdinand in 1838. This beautiful monument is complemented with amazing romantic gardens full of details that can be found while wondering the winding paths. On the hill beside this one we will visit another fascinating monument, the Moorish castle, a fortification built in around the 10th century following the conquest of the Iberian Peninsula by the Moors. These places allow you to learn about Portuguese history while enjoying nature and its incredible views.
