SINTRA

Sintra is one of those places full with magic and mystery, where nature and Man combined in a perfect symbiosis. Today will start with a gorgeous hike through the lush green forest, enjoying the beautiful scenery and learning about components that create this rich habitat.

Lunch at Sintra.

After lunch we will visit the Pena Palace that is the perfect example of the 19th century Romanticism style of architecture, built on top of a hill above Sintra by King Ferdinand in 1838.  This beautiful monument is complemented with amazing romantic gardens full of details that can be found while wondering the winding paths.  On the hill beside this one we will visit another fascinating monument, the Moorish castle, a fortification built in around the 10th century following the conquest of the Iberian Peninsula by the Moors. These places allow you to learn about Portuguese history while enjoying nature and its incredible views.
